Chef Melissa Hura is passionate about feeding people scrumptious, wholesome food. She combines her 20 plus years of business and restaurant experience into a successful personal chef and intimate catering company, Dinner Rescue Crew Personal Chef Services, which serves the Greater Columbus Metropolitan area. Her first fond cooking memories are as a little girl standing on a chair to reach the kitchen counter helping her mother create magic in the kitchen. Her mother’s insistence that the family sits down and enjoys dinner together is something Chef Melissa wants to help others experience despite the crazy busy lifestyles so many endure.
At the age of 14 Chef Melissa’s first restaurant job was dishwasher and potato peeler. A very glamorous position indeed! But this sparked her interest into the culinary world. Throughout the years, she worked her way through the restaurant industry holding positions in both the kitchen and the dining room. In combination to her culinary experience, she has had a successful business career where she managed a range of sales and operational activities. Chef Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Additionally, she received Certified Personal Chef (CPC) diplomas from the USPCA (United States Personal Chef Association) and APPCA (American Personal and Private Chef Association), is a member of the ACF (American Culinary Federation) as well as holding certifications in wellness and nutrition and food safety.
Chef Melissa is married to her unendingly supportive husband, Gordon Hura, and enjoys spending time with Gordon and her three rescue dogs, Jazzy, Frankie, and Annie, when she is not in the kitchen.
