Kelly Provost, owner of Treats, has loved to bake her entire life. Growing up, she baked for her family and learned how much pleasure food can bring. After her father was diagnosed with diabetes, she saw the changes his diet had to go through. Born and raised in Ohio, this kind of change in diet seemed foreign, but Kelly wanted her family to be able to enjoy food together as they had in the past. The challenge: make treats that meets a specific dietary restriction, but are so satisfying that no one feels anything is missing. So Kelly began experimenting with all sorts of combinations, trying to keep her father from passing out and the rest of her family from turning up their noses. She's succeeded many times over and now she gets rave reviews on her desserts even before telling people that they may be sugar and gluten-free.
Kelly's experimentation became such an obsession that she required a lot of taste testing from friends and family. Soon, those same friends and family started asking her to bake for their occasions. After seeing how often this occurred, some suggested that others would love these kinds of desserts. So Treats was born.
